Community garden in Western North Carolina at golden hour
Western North Carolina

Growing food for the mind, body, and spirit.

Challengers builds Educational Farms where people come together to learn, grow, and nourish every part of what makes us human.

How does the Challengers Educational Farm prevent a community crisis?

The Community Crisis

(Challenge)

In January of 2027 new federal legislation goes in effect causing many low income housing renters to lose their housing and Medicaid.

This could dramatically increase the homeless population.

Three roots, one purpose

Every Challengers Educational Farm is designed to nurture the whole person - because true growth happens when we feed every part of ourselves.

Mind

Mental exercise workshops offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy lessons through connecting with the Earth in the garden.

Body

Gardening and small animal husbandry workshops (chickens, sheep, & goats) teach the community how to grow food through small scale regenerative farming practices.

Spirit

Community gatherings, mindfulness in nature, and the shared joy of a harvest help people connect with something bigger than self.

Foundational Sponsors

Things that are built to last are built on a strong foundation.

A Foundational Sponsor provides the support for a strong foundation that guides us into a better future.

Why Western North Carolina?

The mountains of Western NC have always been a place of resilience and self-reliance.

Nowadays farming is being lost to developers and corporations.

The Challengers Educational Farm is more than a garden - it’s a living classroom, gathering space, and seedbed for a healthier, more connected future.

We have a bright future ahead when we bring back small scale regenerative farming and no longer rely on corporations to provide our food.
